What happens during a Kinesiology session?

The clients detailed personal and health information is recorded manually on a client information form. The Kinesiologist will then discuss a treatment plan to work on a particular issue.

The client will then be asked to lie on a massage table without removing any clothing items other than shoes. During the session the client may be required to perform some physical movements for postural, orthopaedic or brain function assessments.

Muscle monitoring is gently used to locate energy imbalances. The client will raise the wrist in the air whilst the elbow is placed on the table. A kinesiologist uses muscle monitoring as an indication tool. The muscle response provides ‘bio-feedback’ which indicates whether a client is holding stress in relation to the muscle, energy meridian or issue being balanced. The kinesiologist will use this muscle monitoring technique throughout the session to gather information then perform corrections with a range of techniques. Each session the client and practitioner are both involved to perform the corrections needed to balance the issue. Suggestions and advice may incorporate relaxation and other techniques, lifestyle changes, dietary changes including nutritional support.

Do I need to be sick or unwell to have a Kinesiology session?

No. Kinesiology is useful to improve a clients overall health and well being.

How many sessions do I need?

It really does depend on each individual client issue. To create long term changes that hold and stabilise for a prolonged period of time, it is recommended 4-6 sessions.

Depending on the severity of the imbalance, more sessions may be required. Kinesiology provides long lasting, effective results.

Is Kinesiology a form of medical treatment?

No. A kinesiologist will NOT diagnose disorders. Kinesiology balances the bodies energy meridian systems to support the body and its own healing ability. Kinesiology is a complementary and alternative care.

Kinesiology is an integrated approach to help improve health and well being, incorporating elements of traditional Chinese medicine, aiming to detect and correct imbalances that may relate to stress, nutrition or minor injuries, causing disease in the body. Kinesiology helps connect the mind, body and spirit.

Can I get a private health rebate with Kinesiology?

Unfortunately, as of 1st April 2019 is no longer covered by private health insurance. The Australian government introduced changes that affected numerous natural therapies, including kinesiology.

Is receiving a Kinesiology treatment painful?

No. Kinesiology assists in pain management. If at any time during the session, the client feels pain or discomfort, the kinesiologist should be notified immediately and it will be addressed. Kinesiology diffuses stress that is holding in the body. An acupressure pen is used during the session to dissipate blocked energy points on the meridian systems. This pen can activate ‘tender’ points to allow energy to flow.

What do I wear to a Kinesiology appointment?

Come to your appointment wearing comfortable, loose clothing with leggings or loose pants.

Do I need to bring anything with me to my Kinesiology appointment?

No, you do not need to bring anything in particular with you to the appointment. If you are using medication or supplements, you can bring them with you.

What will I experience after the session?

Each client will experience a different independent outcome as the sessions vary. Things that a client may experience after a session is:

• Clarity, feeling lighter and happier

• Feel on an extreme high or in some cases an extreme low

• Perception changes, a new awareness comes into light of the issue being addressed

• Physical symptoms begin to heal

• Thirsty, due to thirst reflex being activated

• Feel a sense of calm and peace

• Feel tired and possibly exhausted as the energy starts to move

• Crying or feeling angry or depressed, as emotions come to the surface to be released

• Feel unsettled, as sometimes a client will feel worse before they feel better

• An increase in memory or dreams may increase as old memories surface

• Cold or flu like symptoms may be experienced, due to toxin elimination

• A whole new layer of issues may arise that the client may not have been aware of, due to moving through the layers of issues to clear up

• No difference may be felt at all after 1 session, it may take a few sessions to start shifting old pain, patterns and beliefs that have be around for a while

• Subtle changes that take place, noticed by yourself, your family or close friends

Is Kinesiology safe for a pregnant woman?

Yes. Kinesiology is a safe, non-invasive treatment to balance the bodies energy systems, even a pregnant woman can receive treatment. The practitioner needs to be aware that the client is pregnant and certain measures will be taken to make sure the client is comfortable. Certain acupressure points will be avoided due to a woman either willing to conceive or being pregnant. The practitioner is professionally trained and qualified to work with pregnant women.

Can my child benefit from Kinesiology?

Yes. Kinesiology is a great natural way to help your child keep healthy, and in balance. It can be used safely from babies to teens and can complement any medical treatment that your child is receiving. If your child is having learning difficulty at school with concentration, comprehension, memory or any other aspect, it can be managed with kinesiology. The practitioner is professionally trained and qualified in L.E.A.P. (Learning Enhancement Advanced Program) and uses various techniques and exercises to enhance brain function. Emotional stress such as anxiety or behavioural issues and/or relationship problems can also be addressed and corrected. Kinesiology also helps in sporting performance to enable the body to speed up recovery and heal itself quickly from sporting injuries for young athletes.

Can Kinesiology be used on animals?

Yes. A surrogate body (usually the animals owner) is used to perform kinesiology on. Animals also have meridian energy systems that can be accessed and balanced to improve health and wellness from a minor injury or life circumstances.

What do you mean by a ‘surrogate body’?

When it is not possible to muscle monitor a person or animal, a surrogate body will be used. A third party, referred to as a surrogate body, will lay on the kinesiology table on behalf of the person or animal that is unable to be muscle monitored as a substitute. The third party gives permission before commencement of the session to allow communication through the body of the surrogate on the table. It sounds quite peculiar but we are all energetical beings with meridian systems. A kinesiologist can access information through a substitute body. Here are some reasons why a ‘surrogate body’ would be used in a kinesiology session:

• The person is unable to physically attend the appointment

• The person lives in a faraway distant place

• The client is in hospital

• Whilst working with animals

• Whilst working with babies and children under 7 years old, as they are unable to lay for long periods in stillness

• The client is old, frail, unwell or weak

• Whilst doing a Distant Kinesiology session

What is a Distant Kinesiology session?

Kinesiology can be done remotely for a client that is unable to physically come to the appointment. A surrogate body will be arranged by the practitioner. An appointment time will be made that suits the client, practitioner and the third party surrogate body. Distant kinesiology can benefit anyone from any part of the country or from around the globe.
